About
I’m thrilled you are taking a moment to get to know me. I believe it is important to have a relationship in business, this is where trust and understanding begin.
I have lived in Modesto my whole life. In April of 2008 I married the woman of my dreams. I am happy to share with the world that come late March of 2009 I will be a father.
I have been in the business of Web and Graphic Design since 2005 but have design and programming experience on the interweb dating back to 1997. What sets me apart from other designers is that I am a entrepreneur. The reason I took up web design was to promote my business ideas. In the late 90’s I was one of the very few marketing AT&T product activation on the web. A few years later my desire to expand a growing retail store I opened brought me online once again. I have marketed products online and sold products online. I understand that a business does not just need a website, they need a finely tuned marketing engine under the hood of something beautiful (yes I like cars).
Many businesses and organizations have thrived in the past but are experiencing new challenges in today’s market. The internet has made information a commodity. The learning curve for the do-it-yourself types is much smaller with information available at the fingertips of anybody with an internet connection. Many industries have also become commoditized which has driven many out of business, however I only see it as a good thing. That sounds evil, let me explain myself…
I grew up middle working class as did most of us in the Central Valley. This was a time where you could buy local, and pay a bit more, or go to a big city and get a good deal. Today the big city or good deals are on the internet and poking their heads out of small office spaces all over the world. Many jobs are being outsourced to other countries completely. It is getting increasingly hard to remain competitive in today’s market, but we manage. What about tomorrow’s market? How often do we think about tomorrow in terms of growth? We are often consumed with thought about today and wonder if we will last until tomorrow. I tell you the truth when I say that the businesses and organizations that will last are thinking about tomorrow before you even woke up today. Those who live in the “today” with out thought of tomorrow run the risk of becoming commoditized by somebody or a bunch of somebodies who will provide the service for less and more frequent.
My goal as a web designer is to make sure that a viewer has felt the experience that your business, restaurant or organization provides. In the book “Nuero-Marketing”, it is explained that people are 20% auditory and 80% visual. That means that we make up 80% of our decisions and emotions based on visual representations. You should not hear what a website is saying, you should feel it. You feel something when you see it, when you see it, you experience it. We drive out of our way to visit an iMAX Theater, not because it sounds better. Does your website sound better then it looks?
